Ars reviews the BenQ Joybee GP1

So I doubt any real theater geeks getting excited about this, but I’m more impressed with the technology evolving to make something like this happen. If you’ve ever stood by one of the professional projectors, they are obscenely large and fairly loud, so hopefully this is a glimpse that a reduction in size while maintaining quality may be possible in the future.

While the resolution and brightness may disappoint videophiles, for a product so small—and for the $500 price tag—this is an impressive piece of equipment. Good for business applications, a cheap way to add an 80-inch TV to a dark room, or for playing Wii Sports on a sheet in the backyard, it’s not hard to justify the price tag.
