Roxio CinemaNow will use NVIDIA technology

3D has been dead, and then revived, and then dead, and now being revived again. We’ve seen a number of new movies come out in 3D, most notably was Pixar’s UP which actually got very good reviews. More movies like that can only help this type of initiative from Nvidia and Roxio.

Sonic is positioning 3D downloads as a bridge technology to Blu-ray 3D, which most analysts don’t expect to reach homes until 2011 at the earliest. Sonic also is working with consumer electronics manufacturers to deliver 3D content through next-generation connected HDTVs and Blu-ray Disc players. The Blu-ray Disc Assn. formed a task force this year to integrate advanced 3D technology into the format, though it hasn’t set a timeline for introducing the technology.
