NBC promotes fall season with online showings

Interpret this news as you wish, but I take it as another step in the progress for traditional media companies to adapt their methods to support the evolution of technology and how users are digesting content. Rather than strike against online content, fearing it will cannibalize DVD sales, NBC is embracing it and using it as motivation for the DVDs as well as the upcoming season premieres.

Both sites are offering five episodes of each show per week, leading up to the new season premieres. In the case of 30 Rock, all of the episodes of the most recent season, season three, are available for streaming now, but on Aug. 23, only five episodes of the season will be posted each week through the show’s season four premiere on Oct. 15.
