August 11th Blu-ray Releases

Another good week of releases coming up. I’ve been waiting to see "I Love You, Man" for a while, it’s received some great reviews and I just want to see the guy from Freaks & Geeks battle Lou Ferragamo! A classic for its time, I’m sure some of you are St. Elmo Fire fans. I still haven’t watched it…but it’s definitely on my list of to-do’s. Going a bit nontraditional with my recommendation however, giving kudos to one of the great japanese directors of all time…

MissingRemote’s Pick of the Week

Ichi the Killer Let me preface this recommendation by saying this–if you do not like japanese horror movies, then please disregard this suggestion. Ichi the Killer is one of Takashi Miike’s most popular movies ever. It’s a story of mobs and revenge and includes some pretty violent scenes, but to date it’s one of my favorite japanese horror movies. If you’re unfamiliar with Japanese horror, but have enjoyed Kill Bill, then you’ll enjoy this one!
