Hulu, ITV may form U.K. partnership

This is very much a rumor, but it makes sense given Microsoft’s recent MSN Video announcement in the UK. Here Hulu is apparantly in the works with several content providers to begin distributing shows over seas. Would be interesting to see if they offer the same content.

Variety

There is fresh speculation in Blighty that a deal giving U.K. commercial terrestrial giant ITV a substantial stake in a local version of U.S. online service Hulu is near. Hulu, backed by News Corp., NBC Universal and Disney-ABC, hopes to launch in the U.K. soon and has been courting all the major players — but has yet to sign any content partners. The potential involvement of ITV, which needs to secure new revenue streams in a challenging advertising market, has been in the cards for several months.
