Apple Dumps 40GB Apple TV, Lowers 160GB by $100

Now this is an interesting announcement from Apple. While rumors had suggested the boys from Cupertino would completely kill off or evolve the AppleTV lineup, it appears they are only getting rid of the smaller 40gb version, and have cut the price of the 160gb version by $100. Still the device is over $200, so you might want to weigh all your options…at least until you see what the future holds for this rather stagnant device.

So the bad news, for now it seems, is that you can’t grab a cheaper entry model for your viewing and listening pleasures. The good news, though, is that the price of the old 40GB model is now the price of the 160GB version. That’s right—the 160GB has gone from $329 down to $229.
