We have been keeping an eye on the latest version of the popular Windows Media Center add-in for a while now, but word went out early this morning that the official, final version of My Movies 4 has been released. This new version includes comprehensive support for movie and television series collections. Be sure to check out our review to get the full rundown on the changes and additions. I know that many HTPC users keep their system on a fairly conservative update cycle, so be forewarned that you do need to be running Windows 7 with Service Pack 1 to install My Movies 4.

My Movies 4.00 brings extended TV Series support to My Movies for Windows Media Center and My Movies Collection Management. You have with My Movies 3 always been able to add TV Series on DVD, Blu-ray or HD DVD to your collection, and users of TV series in online single file structures have been able to have their TV series supported to some extend by using the Series/Box set functionality along with the option to add multiple discs to a disc title profile.

Sorry Mike. Just the WMC client at this point.  The WHS 2011 backend is still in beta. I’ve heard some rumors that the new WHS version is only 2-3 weeks out at this point, though.

MM4 finally inspired me to abandon the native movie library. The TV functionality is a bit overdue if you want to compare it to mediabrowser but it is top notch.

MM remote for ipod, ipad, and android also round out the experience much better than other remote apps and they’re fun to show off. I’m hoping these apps support TV guide in the future to make it complete.

It’s a shame I am having problems installing SP1 on the HTPC… that means I can not upgrade MM !! 🙁
