HD Rollout Begins in San Antonio

Those lucky folks in San Antonio just got 30 HD channels added to their AT&T IPTV lineup. As of yesterday they can now get some hot turkey cooking action in HD. Where is the advantage over cable TV at this point? I though IPTV would roll out a host of other services to make cable and sat providers scream bloody murder?!

From the article:

We recently received some great pictures of U-verse HD in
action here in the heart of San
Antonio.
As of this morning, several channels have been added to the guide, including 30
HD channels like HDNet, FoodHD, ESPNHD, HBOHD, SHOHD, local
channels,
and more. Only the limited number of test users that have received the Motorola
set-top-box upgrade can watch the HD channels, but the city-wide rollout of the
boxes should begin very shortly. As of press time not all of the listed HD
channels are active. The test users we talked to report only currently being
able to tune in to HDNet, TNTHD, ESPNHD, ESPN2HD, and NFLHD. Although households
are currently restricted to watching only one HD channel at a time, picture
quality
appears to be tremendous, and future upgrades should enable AT&T to offer a
second HD stream.
