Judge Approves Dish’s Blockbuster Acquisition

I can’t say I’m surprised as this deal isn’t nearly as dangerous as the AT&T-T-Mobile merger. Not sure what Dish has in store for Blockbuster’s bankrupt self, but now it’s all theirs. Along with some nice new lawsuits which conveniently just popped up as well.

Blockbuster CEO Jim Keyes April 7 told Reuters that he expects Dish to maintain the chain’s store operations, in addition to Blockbuster Express kiosks, which are owned and operated under license agreement with NCR Corp.

The Blockbuster down the street from me has had “going out of business” sale signs in all the windows for a couple months. I don’t think it will still be open by the time this is all worked out, they’ve probably sold off most of the store by now.
