Blu-ray Releases – April 26, 2011

I know the list of movies here is long, but at a closer look there’s almost nothing new that actually stands out. The Queen was supposed to be great with Helen Mirren, and while she was hilarious on SNL, I haven’t seen it yet. Lots of good kung-fu releases for you fans, and lots of re-issues on Blu-ray.

MissingRemote’s Pick of the Week

Given the lack of anything new, I decided to go with a classic film from 2002 featuring Leonardo Dicaprio, Cameron Diaz, and most notably Daniel Day Lewis, who I’m pretty sure won an Oscar for his performance. The film is set in the 19th century New York streets where gangs fight for turf and control. It’s a great movie if you haven’t seen it yet.

Note:  Warner Brothers, Universal and Fox titles which  have the 30-day Netflix/Redbox rental window imposed on them are noted with **  next to the title.

Thanks for the mention of The Queen, as I’ll be checking that out as well now.  I heard amazing things about Finding Neverland and am anxious to see it.  You’ve also got me looking at Gangs of New York, too.  Pretty decent pick.
