Covered in his guide is container format, a link to a quality FFDShow build (hard to come by) and a few other useful tidbits. Chris Lanier Codecs installed by some third party programs like Nero Burning ROM work poorly in Vista Media Center and Windows Media Player. It’s best to use the steps above to ffdshow at a higher Merit instead of using these. Other programs like WinDVD, PowerDVD, and various other video editing and conversion programs also install various codec’s on your system.
