Toshiba Debuts New HD DVD Player

We heard about the HD-A20 a while back and now it is finally available in the US. At a MSRP of $500, you can already find it an Amazon for $419 dollars. This player has 1080p support, DVD upconversion and an ethernet port. It looks like Toshiba isn't ready to give up the game yet.

The Toshiba HD-A20 has 1080p output capability and is designed to play HD DVD titles, which is the next generaton DVD disc format backed by Toshiba and others. The HD-A20 is considered the middle rung in the second generation of Toshiba's HD DVD players and is backwards compatible with existing DVDs and CDs so consumers aren't limited to just the handful of HD DVDs currently on the market.
