Blu-ray Releases – February 22, 2011
Another so-so week of releases, although a fair amount of TV series are out, such as one of my favorites–Weeds, Season 6–which although has diminished a bit it’s still quite entertaining. Get Low was a pretty good drama/comedy as well, about an old hermit who decides to have a funeral party while he’s still alive–good laughs with of course some serious twists. And then there’s Alien vs Ninja, which I could not get past the trailer…but if it’s your thing…you’ll know before you watch it.

Due Date **
Interested in watching Robert Downey Jr and Zach Galifianakis take a road trip across the country so Downey’s character can arrive in LA in time for his baby’s birth? I didn’t have high expectations here, but I must admit there was a fair share of laughs throughout this extreme journey. Btw, if this sounds similar to Planes, Trains and Automobiles it’s because, it really is quite similar. And if you haven’t seen that one, please do–Steve Martin and John Candy are HILARIOUS. Still though, given this week’s releases, Due Date gives a good share of laughs. |
