Thermaltake LUXA2 LM300 Touch Pro HTPC Case

This is a nice looking case, but it’s odd that the review didn’t mention exactly how much it costs (yet price was listed as a con)–odd. Anyhow, a quick google search found it anywhere from $400-600! Quite a range for a high end HTPC case, but as you would expect with a 7″ touch screen.

Not so very often we happen to receive a product sample so innovative or of such high quality that really intrigues and leaves us with the best possible impression. Almost a year ago we had the chance to test such a product, more specifically the LM300 Pro PC Case by LUXA2 an rather new division of Thermaltake focusing on extremely high quality HTPC cases for the most demanding of users. The LM300 Pro is in fact the second best HTPC case LUXA2 manufactures and so we always wanted to take a look at their flagship HTPC Case, the LM300 Touch Pro which finally after all these months is sitting on our test bench.

  • Is that a firewire port on

Is that a firewire port on the front? why yes it is! this case is old, been around for a while now.  I don’t even think the card reader supports SDHC.

  • I have a nice logitech

I have a nice logitech remote, why would I want to get up out of my potato spot to use a touchscreen or have to keep binoculars at hand to see what is on the screen from across the room. Chances are I would have it disabled anyways so there wasn’t a distraction to the main screen.

If I was loaded perhaps I might use this as my desktop gaming machine. A nice second display to tell me how many rounds I have and score would be nice.

Any sensible person would have their media all on a server and would never do encoding on an HTPC. It just doesn’t make that much sense.

      • I use my remote desktop to

I use my remote desktop to setup anything I would not turn my TV on for. I can’t imagine how difficult it would be to use a 7 inch screen unless there was an interface designed for that size, like a mobile app like interface.

Now a 22inch touchpanel ran from the HTCP to a coffe table or somewhere else in the room running as an extended desktop would be awesome.
