Model Change Time-Should You Purchase a Demo HDTV?
I haven’t worked at Best Buy in YEARS, but suffice to say if you are there at the right time with the right manager, you can get yourself one heluva deal. If you want the best deal, tell the sales associate straight up you WILL buy the PSP (performance service plan) and then make sure he goes to the manager for the best price…haggling works! But pay attention to these facts beforehand.
Many retailers (including Best Buy) demo larger flat screen sets on the wall, which makes retailing sense. What doesn’t make sense is Best Buy’s wasteful and environmentally irresponsible policy of discarding cartons, packing materials, owner’s manuals, cables, accessories and, incredibly, sometimes even the remote controls and table stands!
