Windows 7: Setting Up Tuner Priority per Channel

One of the most requested features in Media Center has always been to give users more control over their tuners and the priority in which they record. This can be for a number of reasons–say you have an SD tuner and an HD tuner and want to make sure the HD one takes precedent. With Windows7 you finally can, and Hack7MC takes a little tour on how to do so.

To get started open up the TV Guide and navigate to the station you’d like to change the tuner priority for. Select the channel from the guide and bring up the menu by pressing the i button on your Media Center remote or right-clicking with your mouse. Select Edit Channel from the menu to bring up the channel menu.
