Australian EPG provider defeats copyright nazis

Australia’s Nine Network has lost its legal efforts to squash tiny EPG provider IceTV by claiming it owned the copyright over its programming schedule. Until now networks have refused to share their EPGs and fought tooth and nail against devices such as hard drive recorders. One network is bringing TiVo to Australia next year, but with the ad-skipping disabled! The IceTV ruling will hopefully open the floodgates for EPG-enabled PVRs in Australia.
