Blu-ray Releases – February 1, 2011
Lots of releases this week, just not a lot of them are new I’m afraid. I actually had trouble coming up with some sub-recommendations, which is why the I’m-sure-it’s-awful Beverly Hills Chihuahua 2 is on there. So let it be known, that is NOT a recommendation!

Based off a best selling book and also a similarly titled Let The Right One In film from Sweden, this story surrounds a 12 year old boy who befriends a neighbor girl who just so happens to be a vampire. Now this isn’t your typical Blade-like vampire film, as it really revolves more around the lead character Owen and his friendship to the girl. The US version is much bloodier and while I found the Swedish version to have invested more into the character and relationship, I think the US version did an admirable job and should give audiences a good experience. |
