December 22nd Blu-ray Releases

As we reach Christmas week we hit another slow week as far as quantity of new releases, but the quality is there indeed. My pick is District 9, simply due to how great will look on Blu-ray and some pretty awesome special effects. But there’s plenty more to like from the releases. "500 Days of Summer" has received rave reviews and is definitely high on my list to see, and "Extract" is a comedy from Mike Judge, creator of the cult classic Office Space.  For what it’s worth….the Family Guy film is pretty humerous as well…assuming you’re a Family Guy fan, of course.

MissingRemote’s Pick of the Week

 

District 9 is a super creative and original film from Peter Jackson where the premise is that an alien species’ spaceship gets stranded on Earth and they are confined as illegal immigrants and placed in refugee camps. It’s much more thought out than the trailers may have led to, and it has some nice twists that keep you on the edge of your seat.
