ASUS annouces VivoMini VM65N & VM65 SFF HTPC

They aren’t quite NUC sized, but still quite small and sleek. These ASUS VivoMini SFF look like they should be quite suitable for HTPC use, and the higher end model with the Kaby Lake Intel Core i7 and NVIDIA GeForce 930M dGPU would do for some gaming as well. Unfortunately the PR (after the the click), doesn’t note NIC OEM, but otherwise seems nicely spec’d. Prices start from £399, so they won’t be crazy money either.

ASUS Announces VivoMini VM65N and VM65 with 7th Gen Intel Core Processors

Powerful home entertainment mini PCs updated with up to 7th Generation Intel Core i7 quad-core processors, DDR4 memory and discrete NVIDIA graphics

  • 2-liter mini PCs feature the latest Intel Core (‘Kaby Lake’) processors for fast performance and improved energy efficiency
  • VivoMini VM65N features discrete NVIDIA GeForce graphics for smooth 4K UHD visuals and casual gaming, and immersive ASUS SonicMaster-enhanced audio
  • Vivo DualBay, a flexible dual-storage design, can accommodate up to two 2.5-inch solid-state disks (SSD) or hard disk drives (HDD)

Taipei, Taiwan (12th December, 2016) — ASUS today announced that VivoMini VM65 Series mini PCs are now available with the latest 7th Generation Intel® Core i7 processors for faster performance and stunning 4K UHD visuals. These mini PCs feature DDR4 memory, discrete NVIDIA® GeForce® graphics and ASUS SonicMaster-enhanced audio — making them ideal as powerful home entertainment hubs for casual games and smooth 4K UHD video playback.

7th Gen Intel Core performance and up to 16GB DDR4 memory

VivoMini VM65 Series mini PCs are powered by a choice of the latest 7th Generation Intel Core[1] i7, i5 and i3 processors. These quad-core processors use an energy-efficient microarchitecture, advanced process technology and silicon optimizations to deliver improved performance over previous-generation processors. The updated VM65 Series mini PCs deliver an 11 percent performance increase[2] for productivity tasks. In addition, these PCs can be specified with up to 16GB DDR4 memory to provide users with fast and efficient performance for daily multitasking computing.

The Good Design Award-winning VivoMini VM65 Series mini PCs are a striking addition to any home. These mini PCs can be VESA-mounted on the back of a monitor or TV to create a custom all-in-one PC. They operate almost silently too, with a noise level of just 24dB at idle — even quieter than a library.

Discrete NVIDIA graphics and SonicMaster-enhanced audio

The higher-specification VivoMini VM65N has discrete NDIVIA GeForce 930M Optimus graphics and 4K UHD display support to allow users to enjoy stunning videos, play casual games at their highest settings, or view incredibly-detailed photos. NVIDIA graphics cards deliver a performance boost of up to 56 percent over PCs with integrated graphics, making VivoMini VM65N an ideal photo or video editing platform.

VivoMini VM65 Series mini PCs come with built-in SonicMaster speakers — doing away with the need for external speakers. This gives VivoMini VM65 Series deep rich bass and crystal-clear vocals, even at the highest volume levels.

ASUS-exclusive Vivo DualBay storage

VivoMini VM65 Series mini PCs feature Vivo DualBay, a unique dual-storage design that can accommodate a combination of up to two 2.5-inch SSDs and HDDs for added storage flexibility. This gives users the option to mix and match SSD or HDD options for an ideal balance between larger storage capacities or faster data access speeds. Models without Vivo DualBay will have a single 3.5-inch HDD.

A single 3.5-inch HDD, or two 2.5-inch HDDs via Vivo DualBay, would be sufficient to store entire movie or music libraries; while a combination of a 2.5-inch HDD and an SSD would be a perfect choice for fast operating system boot times and lightning-fast application launches.

ASUS VivoMini VM65N and VM65 will be available from mid-January via normal etailers in the UK. Prices start from £399.99 inc. VAT MSRP. Please contact your local ASUS representative for further information.
