Matt has put together some very informative guides over the past couple of years and I will take the next week or so to reintroduce them to our new readers.

The first on that caught my eye is his article on GPU HD video processing. In a nice, easy to digest article Matt explains what capabilities modern video cards have to decode HD video.

With all kinds of questions about what GPU can accelerate what codec? and how much acceleration does it offer? I’ve been working on helping to answer these questions in a draft of this guide off and on since February… So here’s my attempt at charting the GPUs and IGPs that are common in the HTPC arena.
