AVerMedia Combo TV Card Brings Analog and Digital Together

Gear Digest has one of Avermedia’s new combo cards up for review. Pretty nifty, especially if you’re using a low-profile HTPC case, since this comes with a bracket to convert it to low-profile. They’re pretty thorough so it’s a good read if you’re in the market for a new tuner, or just want to learn more about "combo" cards.

 Digital handling in the card shows evidence of the same excellent noise reduction circuitry that we observed when comparing results for analog signals with the HQV material. Overall, this card appears to be quite capable of pulling in and cleaning up digital signals, provided that it’s outfitted with a decent antenna for OTA HDTV material.
