Thursday Podcast Roundup, I’m On the Awards Show!

Another great week for podcasts, and yes I am completely biased because Ian invited me to help him host his Digital Lifestyle Awards show, which was a blast! Also, going to change the formatting a bit here, I’ll list the 2 or 3 most recent podcasts, and then have the rest available via the Read More link at the bottom, just to conserver space on the homepage. If you like/hate it, let me know via the comments!

The Media Center Show #243 – TDL Awards

Mike and I discuss the results and find out stats like what percentage of voters use Windows Home Server, how many are running Extenders and how many of you have switched to Windows 7.Thanks to everybody that voted and that sent in the nominations.

Engadget HD Podcast 177 – 02.09.2010

Leading off the podcast this week is breaking Netflix Watch Instantly news (only to find out after recording that 5.1 and closed captioning features would be available this year, but not 1080p) before trying to figure out exactly what Comcast was thinking with its new Xfinity brand name. After that we get elbow deep in the NBC/Boxee standoff, even more Netflix numbers and Blu-ray player sales projections. Of course we’ve got some 3D news from the last few weeks to recap, from the HDMI spec going public to Comcast’s 3D efforts, Sky’s inaugural soccer broadcast and Samsung’s BD-C6900 showing up momentarily on Amazon. Of course we had to discuss Panasonic’s plasma revelations, before closing out with the new (& cheap) ATI HTPC video card and a few poll results.

Control Your HTPC with a Ring. Even More OTA HDTV solutions, the Blu-ray releases for February 9th, 2010, Smooth out a flawed LCD display, hardware acceleration with Flash!

TDL Mobile Show #25 – Nokia N900 Roundtable

This week we have a special show dedicated to the Nokia N900. Joining me in this roundtable discussion are two great guests: Kevin Tofel from jkOnTheRun and Lisa Gade from Mobile Tech Review. We have a great in depth discussion about the N900’s design, usability, market position, Maemo 5, and Nokia’s future. If you like what you hear, you should read Lisa’s full review of the N900 and Kevin’s first impressions of Firefox on the N900.

Entertainment 2.0-Episode 63: HD or Nothin’…maybe.

The big show returns this week with discussions on whether or not SD content is even worth it! I personally can’t imagine it but some people out there will skip content just because it’s not HD. Josh and I take time to clear out our opinions on the subject.
