AVSForum launches free iPhone App

Not sure if anyone here uses an iPhone (it’s not very popular!).   As HD geeks there aren’t many things we enjoy more than a spirited debate on an online venue and for our interests none are matched by the great AVS Forum — other than our very own comments of course. We’ve learned more from this single source than […]

Thermalright AXP-140 Heatpipe CPU Cooler

We haven’t covered a lot of HTPC heatsinks recently (don’t worry, we will be!) but here’s one regarding one from Thermalright that looks to be solid.     This review is going to take a look at a CPU cooler designed for use in an HTPC (home theater personal computer) that is compatible with Intel’s socket 775/1156/1366 processors, as well […]

Thermaltake Element-Q VL52021N2U mITX HTPC Case

Here’s a slick small Mini-ITX case for your eyes to behold. Nothing strikes me as revolutionary about this case, but given the high price some of these have, it’s nice to see this one come in easily under $100.   While Thermaltake kept the wide and large similar to other products, the height almost doubles other Mini-ITX cases. I don’t […]

Steve Jobs: Google TV Will Go the Way of TiVo and Roku

Can’t help but laughing when I read something like this from Mr. Jobs, but can’t argue with his success. Curious what this means for the upcoming AppleTV device…surely there has to be a twist with it’s plan on success, right? “The television industry fundamentally has a subsidized business model that gives everyone a set-top box, and that pretty much undermines […]
