i only use my xbox as an extender on football sundays (i should take a picture, u guys would laugh). but then again, i barely game (madden 2011 is it)…so MCX still outweighs it
i can’t imagine a worst trailer recently than Robin Hood (Russel Crowe version)….literally 50% of the trailer was from the last 5 minutes of the movie. It was awful anyways.
Red looks fun, i’m sure i’ll like it
ROFL!! the legend speaks!!!!
November 11, 2010 at 6:11 am in reply to: 80% of TV viewing in U.S. is still in standard definition #29012i totally missed that point. you guys are right, it’s way believable when considering larger households. good to know the Chief Architect at Yahoo’s Connected TV division knows his stuff huh 😉
November 10, 2010 at 9:31 pm in reply to: 80% of TV viewing in U.S. is still in standard definition #29008FYI, the Keynote was given by Ron Jacoby, Chief Architect at Yahoo!. He didn’t mention what source he used, but later in the preso he did quote Nielsen. I’m with you guys that it seems VERY unrealistic
i’m just as amused that the notice of this came from Alan, of all people!!! 😛
November 10, 2010 at 7:27 pm in reply to: 80% of TV viewing in U.S. is still in standard definition #28999somewhat unrelated. i’m at a conference right now, and some guy from Yahoo’s ConnectedTV division reported that according to (Nielsen i think) TV viewing per household is 9.25 hours PER DAY!!!
Does this seem a bit high to anyone? He didn’t mention breakdowns of web vs traditional, but man that seems extraordinarily high doesn’t it?
hehehe. this is good news considering how much i enjoyed episode 1. looking forward to 2 even more now
yep. i LOOOOOOVED this movie. In fact, watching “The A-Team” which i hated, made me realize JUST how good this one was. Great combination of humor and action, a bit of cheesiness…great action movie.
I agree with skirge on those shows, and i totally agree with jenny. i couldn’t even get past 5 minutes of Undercovers. It was just soooooo bad. everything about it. awful
November 5, 2010 at 10:27 pm in reply to: Big Cable Is Bleeding: 500K+ Subscribers Lost In Q3 #28883yeah, i agree swoon. im sure HBO wants them to bundle HBO, HBO2, HBO3, HBO4, etc. I’m not saying the blame is on JUST MSO’s….but c’mon. With their size, I think they could start fixing things if they cared to.
Even with 500,000 less subscribers, i betcha they’re still turning a profit
tortilla!!! (agree that part was funny)
November 5, 2010 at 7:44 pm in reply to: Guide: Sharing Ceton InfiniTV Tuners with Client HTPC Systems #28898anyone else frightened when Mikinho says he tested on “8 different computers”? See, as much as i love the guy, he makes me feel like such a weak geek 🙂
i’m not saying you can’t have the bundles still. I mean, if McDonald’s can figure it out with their Value Meals, i think big MSOs can handle it–Burger + Fry + Coke = $6 if each individual, or if you buy them altogether the value meal is $4
Uhm, you’re telling me if Cable offered a “sports value package” that had Basic Cable+ESPNs, TNT, TBS, Versus, Spike for $25 that you wouldn’t be interested? Well, maybe if you needed HGTV or AMC, then that “Value Cable” bundle at $40 would be worth it…etc.
I cut my cable a while back, and the only thing that hurts is i miss coming home (i can wait for any sitcom/show/series), just turning on ESPN and watching sportscenter all night. But am i going to spend $60 for their lowest package to do so? nope 🙂
I can’t believe in this day and age, with the technology the way it is, that we don’t have A-La-Carte cable. Seriously, it’s insulting. There’s absolutely no other industry that works this way. Oh, you want X service, that’s fine, but that only comes with Y, Z, M services in a package as well for more money.
