I was checking out the movie selection last night and a couple of the movie services they listed you actually have to pay for. I think one was 1-3$ rentals. Most of the movies I could care less to watch. A ton of older flicks from the 50’s,60’s and 70’s. None the less a small step in the right direction.

[/quote]I can def see cable companies raising internet prices if they continue to loose customers. One way or the other the consumer is getting screwed.

I can understand the ease of cable and watching your shows, I’m younger and I do fall right into the age range that the article is talking about. I have cut the cable, and I dont miss cable one bit, it may be because I grew up with it?
The people interviewed for this article are either A really stupid or B didnt do thier research very well. A 40 year old engineer and he didnt consider a HTPC? or using an OTA tuner? and secondly the college kids gather around a tiny laptop to watch hulu? for one why dont they just ota TV to watch the office? problem solved. and if they have a decent laptop they could just get an ota tuner and dvr the office. To me it almost seems like yahoo is trying to give “cutting the cable” a bad reputation. I’ll admit its not for everyone but its really not that difficult to do with a little research and a little work anyone if determined can have a super nice set up and never have to pay for cable again. For the sports side of things they lacked to say that you can purchase an xbox later this year for full streaming ESPN. I’ll stop my rant now :pjust came across this puppy on amazon…. Harmony 880 for 80$ retails 200$ according to amazon.

Yea we arent even close to pushing W7. Heck we have barely even started moving to Server 2008.
Company doesn’t want to spend too much money 🙂 We have a ton of XP licenses. Plus I know it doesn’t make a huge difference OS wise for a domain reasons. We wanted to keep things uniform too. We are using this front end software called http://www.eyemaginations.com/ Its nothing special but its easy to use.
We are going to buy a ton of these for work, using them for a media center type PC to display commercials in our facilities. I’m still in the testing phase of things right now since I had to revert back to XP instead of moving to W7.
lol I will admit I did laugh at the end of the Annoying Orange.
I’m glad we have Jim out there pushing the streaming TV, creating good quality programing. I really enjoy all the revion3 shows, HDnation is by far my favorite. I watch all of the shows through boxee, I have started even watching the cooking show that they have. Diggnation is great too for an interesting way to catch your news. I hope they continue to put content out.
