It was working fine last night.  They did take it offline last Monday (21st) for a server move, so they’re probably just doing additional work.  I wouldn’t fret too much.

there’s no app i know of that will just play a movie over and over again

Actually, most standalone players do this… including Windows Media Player (at least v12 does).

Thanks for that.  I didn’t see an option to post anyway, but perhaps I was not really looking for it.

It’s entirely possible it just tells you it was flagged and sends it to the “spam folder” we have access to.  Again, sorry for the false-positive, but I’m kind of glad it happened, so that we could investigate and let people know.  We certainly don’t want valuable posts getting flagged!

I tried to author a much more elaborate response, but it got rejected as spam for some unknown reason.

Sorry that happened to you.  You should get the option to post it anyway, so, if that–regrettably–happens again to you or anyone else, go ahead and post it, but follow it up with a PM to me or any of the other staff members.  We’ll approve it manually.  That’ll also help us train the system better, so that it doesn’t continue to happen.  Mikinho also found your original post and unblocked it, as you can probably see.

Thanks for the replies, please dont go to fussing on my account. I was a little quick to post my frustrations, so for that In apologize. I think exhaustion and vodka had me just a tad edgy.

Not at all.  Josh and I are both staff members here on Missing Remote and were having a little fun with innocent jabs.  Absolutely no ill will was there whatsoever.  We’re a very easy going bunch and I think you’ll find that we have just about the friendliest forums around.

I’m also a fan of XBMC and have messed with it on a number of occasions, including integrating my SageTV recordings in it.  The elegance of XBMC is the draw, but the learning curve can be quite steep.  While I may have felt similarly with SageTV when I first installed it, I found it much easier to get up and running initially.

Simple… he has good taste.  He CLEARLY would have chosen SageTV if it were still available.  😉

I run SageTV in a server/client setup.  My client PC is running Windows 7 64-bit and it works great.  I use a USB-UIRT and a Harmony 890 remote without any issues.  Besides the remote, what hasn’t worked with the 64-bit OS?

Also, I did a quick search for 64 bit drivers for the Firefly remote and found this.  Not sure if you tried that.

I checked the info on the Intel site and noted the following:

Discrete graphics support for PCI Express* 2.0 x16 add-in graphics card

Sadly, I suspect this means that you can ONLY use a graphics card in the PCI-e slot.

First, I have the original Antec Fusion case and swear by it.  Second, if the LCD is front and center so that you’re looking at it regularly, having some information on it will either be a great feature or utterly annoying to you.  What’s recording is usually duplicate info you could access with a simple button press, but might come in handy when the TV is off.  Music info/controls might be kinda neat, but you’d probably prefer to use a remote to change tracks or pause.  When mine was in sight, I had RSS feeds going across it and I found that quite useful…. although, extremely addictive!  Sealed  Beyond that, as a secondary display, it might come in handy for troubleshooting.  Honestly, the only place I think one would be extremely useful is on a headless server.  Otherwise, it’s a “nice to have” feature.

Nice mod, Kirby!  Talk about a case being properly repurposed!  I never had the patience or tried my skills at modding, so I’m always impressed by people who do.  As a fellow SageTV refugee…  keep up the good fight!  🙂

Just received the SSD today, registered online for the rebate, printed out the rebate form I needed to sign, printed out the invoice, peeled off the UPC, cut up the address label, refused the $3 “rush handling offer” and will instead wait the 8-10 weeks for my American Express gift card.  Sadly, I didn’t read the entire rebate prior to ordering, since I hate gift card rebates.  Oh well.  I know to look closer next time and I’ll make damn sure I use the card ASAP, since the $2 monthly “administrative fee” is only waived for the first 6 months.

I don’t know why that was removed (probably an accident with some changes earlier this week), but you can use the “Recent Activity” listing on the right side and the arrows at the bottom of that section to see more of the recent content in the forums (including news).  Additionally, if you click on the “forums” link in the top menu, you’ll get a listing of all the forums, with tabs across the top.  One of them is “New & updated topics”, which should also get you what you’re looking for.

And, now that I’ve written all that, Mikinho will come swooping in and restore the link you were asking about, negating my post entirely.  (Seems to be his M.O.)

The plus is still 160/250 making it a bit slower than the Vertex 2.  My post wasn’t to say that Vertex Plus had an update making it faster, it was that it is the 1st to use the new Indilinx controller firmware bringing new life to an old controller.  So anyone who sees Indilinx shouldn’t just assume it’s bad just because the chipset is older, still a lot of juice that they were able to squeeze out of it.

Ahh… that makes more sense.  Thanks for explaining, as that’s not what I gleaned from your post (obviously).  I feel better now.

Wait, the Vertex Plus is now faster than a Vertex 2?!?!  The Plus had stats of 160/250, while the 2 had 285/275.  What does the Plus supposedly do now?  That’s messed up if the more expensive drive is now slower!  (Mainly because I just bought the slower one, dammit!)  Yell
