you have gone through the setup config in Media Center and set it to 7.1 right?

I leave my HTPC on running W7 and I turn my reciever and projector off and it doesnt revert to stereo….

      What reciever do you have?

Just wanted to let you guys know I am not dead :p

About a year ago I took my interest in technology and put it to use with remote controlled helicopters.

I built a multirotor helicopter with live first person view video that is able to carry a DSLR camera.

I built the rig from parts from all over the country and world in order to do some aerial photography and just have fun

here is my first ever “production level” video

        I carry a Sony Nex-5n camera

This was from a trip I took up to Alaska this summer!

Please let me know what you think!

here is an aerial highlight reel of only air shots!

The same skills needed to build a PC, overclock, solder make custom cases and fan bus’s are what helped me get into RC.

i have had this issue as well, i am on comcast and I have 2 OTA HD channels (ABC and NBC) no longer works so i am using the SD channels.  I have not had time to trouble shoot it.

I have updated the firmware with 0 fix.

I am wondering if something was changed on the cable side?

what provider are you guys using?

looks great, nice build.  New construction is definitely the way to do it.

with a network tuner like HDhomerun or ceton with network sharing you could even have live TV 😀 which would be great.

            Adidas4275

squeezebox is a no brainer for this one. My wife loves our Duet System.

I installed speakers in the ceiling and with the controller and iPeng it is a dream.

no clunky UIs or boot times.

If you want a self powered unit the Radio version sounds amazing for a mono/ small speaker.

I have one radio and 3 duet recievers with 1 controller and it is a very nice system.

doesnt have all the bells and whistles that Sonos has, but its close.

fixed some of my pic links.  I will be adding more stuff soon.

I just added a 1/2 house audio setup with squeezebox and I bought a Dell 42″ rack 😀

I should have some updates in short order

you can do it inside. I promise, i have worked in 2 story houses, 1 story houses, 20’s homes, homes with basements and with out, plaster walls and drywall…

all can be retro fitted with speaker wire….

monoprices CL2 rated 16g wire is great for small speakers, the longer the run the bigger the wire needs to be….. 14g is a good utility speaker wire… long runs and higher watts will be fine.

if you are dead set on going outside, use the gray conduit and glue every joint.  make sure to have the opening and exit of the conduit in a juction box on the side of the house.

it will work, but if you ever sell the house the new owners are going to be like “what the hell?”

i had the mistake of telling my wife how stable our HTPCs have been over the last 6 months…

and then mediabrowser auto updated and deleted the movies tab and then CBS was only in SD on the HD channel…. super LAME

HTPCs are not easy……  but i have had a good and stable system for a long time.

I’m intrigued by the fact that you consider us Sage centric. At least half if not more of the editors (including the boss) are on W7.
                  [/quote]

interesting, I know i run W7 and all the editors I have ever communicated with use W7 or at a minimum have a positive view of 7MC

for me the lack of HD cable card content keeps me away from sagetv

                  This is huge…..

And I love that it is a web app becuase that means that I can acess it on all my devices

The only lame thing is I need one app for ir, one for browsing movies and then another for home automtion….. Which is just a little bit cumbersome.
