I’m sorry if you enjoyed Paranormal Activity 2 and were expecting it to be our pick of the week given my propensity to select horror/suspense films, but I’ve now been bored in both of those films. I honestly intended to watch “I Spit On Your Grave” but didn’t get to it, but I’ve heard it’s quite the film, albeit disturbing. […]
Read moreI know this isn’t directly Home theater related, but with so much attention to it, I wanted to find a blog that had links to the Super Bowl commercials. There were quite a few funny ones, and even included complete selling out for Eminem. I think the Doritos dog was hilarious, as of course was the VW one. What was […]
Read moreA lot of hard drives are claimed to be quiet and usually sacrifice some performance. By lowering their speeds to sub 6000rpm they of course, run quieter. Here are two drives SCPR put against each other that are 7200rpm drives that appear to be pretty darned quiet. With all the innovation in digital storage, it is easy for drives like […]
Read moreTomsHardware dedicates 13 pages to the topic of Video Transcoding. If this seems like a bit too much for you, make sure you start off with our Beginner’s Guides…then maybe you’re ready for 13 pages. Read moreWe don’t normally link to press releases at MissingRemote since they’re usually just fluff and who knows how they actually perform, but I couldn’t help it on this one since I was actually stunned to see this. Apparently D-Link believes there’s enough demand for Yahoo!’s ConnectedTV widget-based platform that they think people will pony up $200 just to add it […]
Read moreI’ve never been a fan of the Nielsen ratings, and this article really supports my position. But nonetheless it doesn’t look like it’s going anywhere, although it’s good to see they are at least considering changing up a bit. Nielsen’s ratings, in the most basic sense, are like a poll: a sample of people, which the company claims fully represents […]
Read moreStill nothing new to report on the Netflix front for existing Boxee users. I can’t harp too much on this, I think Boxee is being as up front and honest as they can be but man I’m sure this is a disappointment for all those early adopters. The Netflix app is up and running on Boxee (we watched the intro […]
