Missing Remote is going to CES, what do you want to see?

It is almost that time of year again when some of us from Missing Remote make the sacrifice to bear the terrible location, all the new technology and awesome toys to report on what matters to you. So our question to you is, what do you want to see? Where do you want us to visit? Is there any company/product you are looking forward to hearing about?

We want to know because we are going there for you. We already started getting press conference invites and we are setting our calendar appointments for some great 1 on 1 meetings, but maybe we missed something. Before CES starts on Tuesday, January 7th, 2014 we have a whole day of Press conferences from the big names and some smaller ones that want to be the next big one. Check out the link below for the press event schedule and let us know what you would like us to try to get to see. This is not a for sure thing that we will have time or will be able to get into one of the press events but we will try.

  • I don’t know if there are any

I don’t know if there are any booths showing off SteamOS this year(either from Valve directly or 3rd party implementations), but if there are, it’s one thing that’s got me curious about the furture of living room PCs.

I feel like Andrew will have his sonar on for that, but I will keep a look out too..

Already scheduled. I’ve heard that there’s some good stuff coming before CES on this topic too :).

  • 4K @ 60hz on HDMI 2.0,

^ this too. =)  I wonder if we’ll be seeing any DisplayPort to HDMI 2.0 adapters for people with newish video cards that don’t want to have to upgrade just to get a HDMI 2.0 port.

  • I’d love to hear what the

I’d love to hear what the Ceton guys are doing now that they abandoned Andriod on the Echo.  Since that was hardware related, I’m hoping they take Android to revive the Q platform idea, but in a non-WMC form.  I need something awesome to replace my WMC!  Apparently it’s not XBone 😉

Other updates I’d like to hear about:

-Google: (are they there?) what are they doing with SageTV?

-LG: what are they doing with licensed WebOS?

-Intel: moot point now, but see where they were heading with OnCue

-Roku, Netgear, Dish just to see what’s new

  • I’d like to see the Intel NUC

I’d like to see the Intel NUC with the taller box that allows a 2.5″ HDD. When and where can I buy one?

    • We already have a meeting

We already have a meeting setup with Intel, that question will be asked..

  • If you see any 4k passive 3D

If you see any 4k passive 3D displays there, I’m curious how noticible the interlacing lines are vs the current 1080p sets.  And how the blacks on the new OLED sets look vs plasma.

  • LG is announcing a webOS

LG is announcing a webOS based smart TV.  http://arstechnica.com/gadgets/2013/12/lgs-webos-powered-smart-tv-set-to-debut-at-ces-2014/  If any of you happen to see it while there, how’s it look compared to current interfaces out there?

    • It looks a lot likes a lot

It looks a lot likes a lot like their current smart TV interface just said to run faster and have more openness. It was unimpressing not enough to spend too long at it.

      • I figured it wouldn’t be a

I figured it wouldn’t be a game changer, but thanks for taking a look just in case.

It looks a lot likes a lot like their current smart TV interface just said to run faster and have more openness. There has been a number of press releases that are coming about about it and other companies working with it, so I will post those when I am back to help.
