    I suspect most people around these parts need no introduction to the HD-PVR, but it is the only consumer level product that allows you to record encrypted HD stations by converting the component output of your STB into an h.264 stream in realtime.

    I was one of the first people to receive an HD-PVR, I am the same stein that posted the comments on [url=http://www.geektonic.com/2008/06/hauppauge-hd-pvr-unboxing-first-look.html]this topic[/url] on brent evan’s blog.

    the unit did have to be sent back to hauppauge to fix the freezing issue but it has worked flawlessly ever since being returned.

    newegg is selling new HD-PVRs for 220$ so this is almost 50$ off retail for a lightly used unit in perfect shape, with all accessories in the original box. Shipping costs will be as close to actual costs, depending on buyers preferences (i assume it will be near 10$ since that is newegg’s shipping cost), and I am more than willing to talk on the phone or whatever will make the buyer feel secure given that I do not have much of a history on this board.
