Update on copy protection for TWC LA County North (Chatsworth headend). Now virtually everything is copy once except for OTA retransmissions and some SD channels.

I periodically get an erroneous message about copy restricted, but it still records correctly anyway so I ignore it.  Can you tell me how I would know how to answer “Copy Proctection” without just calling the cable company?

Depending on your CableCard product, you can determine by looking at the diagnostic information while watching the program (may be designated as CCI). You can also record a program and use WMC Info command when it has concluded recording. If the program is copy protected, there will be a designation.
