We discuss this on the podcast this week, What is next. Where do we go from here and some options.

It is sad that it won’t be there anymore, but it isn’t gone for good.

I am in the same boat as you. I love WMC but nothing is changing, and no talk of it for Windows 10. It is important for me to keep it as simple as possible. I have extenders and a ton of white xbox 360 media remotes. I would love to get rid of the xbox 360 and just go with it on my xbox one. I use Plex as my streaming service of choice. I pulled all of my movies out of WMC months ago and have not been sad. That said my wife does not watch movies unless I am around. Mike and some others on here are starting to play with kodi and I can say I haven’t touched it since the change to kodi from xbmc but it has some good possibilities. I have my system setup with commercial cutting with MCEBuddy and moving to a share drive once commercials are cut and it has been really nice. My system is not flawless and I wish there was more to it, but I am content with Chromecast and Xbox One taking over the streaming from Plex and Media Browser I have running.

I hope there is some news soon about the future of WMC but look at it this way, no news is good news, because it hasn’t said it won’t be there.

HDBaseT extender and receiver would work great. How far?

Yeah, I love the Media Browser 3 Live TV on a browser, and I had a friend asking for a PLEX option. Nothing really that stellar out there.

              Great link, thanks for that.

The hope is to help with the problem most people have, lets get some reviews up.

No reviews is the biggest problem. That’s the problem I am getting into now trying to research these things before I buy.

Thanks for the questions and suggestions. We are currently in the process of a complete website redesign and it is taking a little longer then expected. We are working through some of the issues with this site and trying to keep it running while we are working on the new site. There are issues with the replies/comments, I know this. Please stay with us and hopefully very soon it will be fixed and updated.

This is a great idea Liger. With Home Automation coming out there is going to be much more of thise option out there. The do it yourself options like you have built or built into your house on a new house. This would be very interesting topic to cover here. Let me do some more digging and see if we can find some more options.

I will get with Andrew and see what we can do to help with this and see if we can get a review unit to get a hands on. We have some good contact. Thanks for the input guys. Andrew was like a kid in a candy store at the Home Automation stuff at CES. He got me excited about it too.

The passive is very attractive to me, and not having any of the kids break expensive glasses all the time. I am watching the LG’s. At CES in 2012 there were some impressive LG that I really liked, and those are now the ones to have. It may be in my line of sight, but the Panasonic’s are very nice too.. The choices..
