      The short and long answer..  No.  The Ceton is QAM only.  Analog is NTSC.

        I have had a 2yr old 120G Corsair in my HTPC for 5 months that was in a laptop for almost 2 years before the laptop itself died.  I was having some drive issues a few weeks ago, but it turned out to be a failing SATA port on the MB that my 640G-WD recording drive was connected to.  Once I moved the WD drive to a different SATA port everything was back to normal.  I’ve had no issues at all with the Corsair though it is only SATAII.

          I had no updates either, even when I tried a manual guide update.  The guide ends around 6-7pm EST depending on the channel.

              Go into the settings, under video, make sure hardware acceleration is enabled/checked.  This needs to be done both inside and outside MC as they use different exe files.

                Same here,  12/26/2011 10:00pm.  The data says it’s comming from Zap2it.  Does anyone know of a fix or workaround?  Or is this the beginning of the Myan doomsday??

                  I second Media Center Master for Meta data.  I have been using Media browser for browsing my media.  Good graphics, some free addons and hasn’t given my any issues.

                    What program did you use to create your MKVs??  I use MKVMerge (GUI) and if the video is H264 encoded, then MKVMerge can’t seem to determine the fps so you have to set that manually or it defaults to 25fps.  That would deff cause audio drift.

                        The solution to your issue is to make a few registry changes that move the UI to the edges of the screen.  I had this issue as well.  I will try to dig up the changes and repost.

                              Update:

                              I was watching some ripped DVDs this weekend and noticed my old friend the brightness flashing.  I checked everything in the NVIDIA setting, the registry entries, and the TV settings.  I swapped TVs from the bedroom to the living room.  Again, flashing in the living room but none in the bedroom.

                              Then I found something that the graphics card manufacturer(ASUS) installed with the driver.  They call it ASUS Splendid and it is supposed to enhance the video.(that is not my opinion)  It is buried in the control panel display settings.  Once it was disabled everything was back to no flashing.

                              Whew…  I’ve lost too much hair over this.

                                Well Michael, replacing the video card seems to have cured it.  I installed this card http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814121448&nm_mc=TEMC-RMA-Approvel&cm_mmc=TEMC-RMA-Approvel-_-Content-_-text-_-  installed the most recent drivers, did a rough calibration and watched the recording that was flashing before.  The frame rate was still bouncing but the brightness was not flashing with it.

                                With the cheap Tv I can still not set the pixel format to anything but RGB and have the scaling not over scan or underscan.  And it’s still odd that the bedroom machine has a 5450 but doesn’t flash yet the living room did.

                                  Thanks Michael. 

                                  One more question if I may, and I don’t mean to put you on the spot, but what would you recommend?  Going with a NIVIDIA adapter?  Strange that the Bedroom HTPC doesn’t flicker, but I should do some more comparing the settings between units.
