This is a great guide, and the timing is perfect for me.  After just getting a new ATI card, 5450 and a new reciever, I struggled with bitstreaming for way too long only to find out it isn’t supported in XP.  Installing windows7 now and planning to follow this guide step by step. 

One question though…  If you have a HDMI 1.3 receiver, is there a need to isntall AC3Filter for the older codecs?  It seems like ffdshow sends both new and old to the receiver.

wow.  the cheapest GTX 460 on newegg is $170.  That’s a hard sell compared to a $50 HD5XXX card.

There was an apple movie trailers app.  I think it was from the boxee people.  It’s probably been a year or more since it stopped working.
