According to Bloomberg, the Tokyo-based company “sold fewer than half the sets it targeted in the initial month of sales.” Toshiba originally planned to sell 1,000 units each of the 12- and 20-inch models.

Biggest size they make is 20″  for about $3000.  Not big enough for a home theater, but I think it could be fun as a gaming monitor.

Any chance of us getting the “Submit news” button again?  It is much easier to format a story that way.

we definitely plan to bring the submit news button back, just a matter of priorities and time. But i’ll bump this to the front page 🙂

20″ for $3000? Uh, yeah. No thank you, that’s just bat shit crazy for a product that is essentially a niche product. Also, considering the very small selection of 3D movies out there and the fact that a chunk, but a lot of the good movies, are limited to company’s as promotional items to sell their 3D junk then it makes perfect sense that these things aren’t taking off.
