I’m considering buying a PCI sound card because I’m still having playback problems with video(recorded TV primarily, but also DVD, HD-DVD and Bluray). My top suspect is the onboard soundchip on my motherboard (gigabyte GA-P35-DS3L). I haven’t bought a sound card in years and don’t know what get. I run spdif to my receiver for 5.1 dd and dts. This opens up plenty of older cards(I know), but it may be worth it to get something that will be a little more future proof when I upgrade my HT. I’d like the best value I can get but with good driver support as well. Any suggestions?
