    Oh, and if you read the review, this thing doesn’t require anything anywhere near adequate cooling. They had to point a 1500W blow dryer at it to get it to overheat and go into protection mode. After a couple minute cool down, they booted right back up and it continued to run solid. With this kind of offering on the market from Seasonic, there’s almost no reason to get a PSU with a fan anymore for HTPCs. Any standard HTPC would run fine with a 400W PSU.

    However, you can no longer count on your PSU’s fan to help cool the rest of the PC.

      Wow.  $139 clams for a 400W PSU. 

      I gotta think about that for a minute. 

      It’ll be interesting to see what price the Corsair fanless debuts at.

        yeah, it aint cheap. but silence rarely is. the funny thing is that the Antec Phantom which came out around what, 4 years ago…and was 500 watts…cost $150. So 5 years later…still fanless, and 100 watts less…and costs around the same. Power supplies are an odd beast huh
