I started experiencing problems again with my ENVY based sound card in MCE, and have decided that it’s time try something else. (For those who want to know, the problem involves switching between AC3/PCM and losing sound in MCE 2005). I was wondering what folks are recommending these days for affordable (PCI) sound cards, with S/PDIF (TOSLINK) out?
Not sure if I would spend much more than $50, since I would probably consider a complete rebuild before spending a lot of money on an older system.
