Does anyone have any experience with PotPlayer for playing back bluray media? It’s free, but the developer’s site is in korean, so I can’t get much information, and I don’t know more than the fact that it was recommended on lifehacker.com.

What I’d like to hear is that someone has already done all the legwork to integrate it into Media Center, but I’m not expecting it.

Since no one seemed to have any experience with the player, I decided to find out for myself.  What I learned is that to play encrypted material will require an on-the-fly decrypter running in the background.

I was looking for an all-in-one solution, so I’ve put this aside for now.

Sorry, missed your post. Potplayer is very similar to MPC-HC, except that it offers a slightly eaiser OOTB experience.

AFAIK, disc based (i.e. encrypted) BD playback is only supported by ArcSoft TotalMedia Theatre, CyberLink PowerDVD, Corel WinDVD and Nero. Of the four options the first two are the best, although TBF I’ve never tried Nero.
