    Hey Guys and Gals:
Last night I got to connect my HTPC to my tele for the first time! (Thanks Monoprice for getting my cables here quick) But I am having sound issues. I have an optical audio cable ran from my motherboard to my current cheapo Samsung AIO receiver. (It only has an optical in and no RCA digital input on it) When I am perusing the windows environment and I get a sudden message (aka ding or warning) the receiver will give a rather irritating pop or squelch. Almost like the proper data wasn’t sent or received. Is there any way to keep it from doing this? (Should I investigate sound card options? or Is my on-board audio enough?) It doesn’t always do it, but often enough that my wife is none to pleased. Work is still in progress so the HTPC can’t stay connected just yet but I am trying to work out kinks nonetheless.

    Thanks!

    Motherboard: Asus A8N-SLI Premium
