Video drivers in Linux have been the single most frustrating issue for me.  In fact, it’s what has caused me to semi-jump ship.  I love the flexibility of MythTV and the WAF couldn’t be higher, but the killer is the serious lack of video decoder acceleration within the Linux environment.  Of course, there isn’t too much the MythTV devs can do about this since the ball sits squarely in the video card manufacturer’s court.  Either get with the game and release Linux drivers which are just as advanced as their Windows counterparts, or release the chipset datasheets so a 3rd party can do the job for them.  Nvidia has long been the “Linux driver king” in this regard, but I still find their drivers seriously lacking in stable acceleration features.
