As I was looking over all of the parts for HTPC v.2.0 I realized that I had put very little thought into controlling VMC with a remote (ok, ok I put no thought into this). Since I purchased the OEM version of Home Premium I got nothing else to go with.
I haven’t really looked all that hard but the MS IR receiver alone doesn’t appear to be readily available. So if I have to break down and get a remote/receiver package does it have to be from MS? I’m thinking no but I’m not sure. If I can go with a cheaper alternative can I get something like the iMON remote/receiver from pcalchemy?
I really don’t care about the remote right at first as I will be primarily mousing VMC until I get a Harmony 880 to consolidate all of the gear. Any thoughts on the matter?
