So as good as i am at MCE, i really have never had the necessary audio config to really know anything about this, so i’m rather confused. So hopefully y’all can help me figure this out.

So here’s the way i understand setups:
Analog setup = Windows Vista > Software HD-DVD Player > Sound Card > Receiver > Speakers
      Digital Setup = Windows Vista > Software HD-DVD Player > Sound Card (S/pdif) > Amplifier > Speakers

So assuming i have the above right, what confuses me is….in order to get a specific format, say DTS, or TrueHD audio, does all of the above need to support it?

Like, Software HD-DVD Players will claim DTS support, and then the Sound Card will claim it as well, and then of course on the receiver. So which is which? If your receiver supports it, does the rest matter?

I’m slightly confused if you can’t tell 😉
