I’ve been lurking for a while and finally took the plunge of building a system. Couldn’t pass up a NSK2480 for $70 🙂
My main goal for this is plain HTPC stuff, PVR, HD/DVD playback, music, etc.. no gaming.
Here’s what I’ve ordered so far:

I already have 2GB RAM that I can use. I’ll be using Vista Media Center. I need advice in choosing a tuner card and remote. I want to record OTA HD and dish network, what would you recommend? I’m torn between the Harmony 880 and 550. What’s the difference/advantages? Would I need an IR blaster to control the dish receiver with the Harmony remote ? Do I need an IR receiver for the computer? I’m have no clue about these things. Thanks.
