I’ve got a gaming PC downstairs (the one I am typing on now) with an eVGA 880GTX in it, and an XBOX 360 upstairs where the HTPC will go, so probably the HTPC will not be used for gaming.

    As for HDMI…sigh…

I am really confounded what to do here.  See, I bought a Zektor HDS4.1 (http://zektor.com/hds41/HDS4.1.html) so I could switch between my TivoHD and my XBOX 360.  I’d like my HTPC to also have component out so I can then switch between it, the TivoHD and my XBOX 360.

My audio right now is just a computer gaming system that takes optical cables in.  The Zektor switches that too.

So I would like my HTPC to output it’s audio with optical cables.

    That would be ideal.

But everyone says to go HDMI.  Or to use the DVI outs from the vide cards to go directly to my plasma TV.

    Help?
