I need some advise/recommendations for BR play back.
My current HTPC has an AMD 3800+, 4 Gig RAM, 7600GS PCIe and a standard DVD drive.
My TV is 720p and connected via DVI (it’s old so it has only component and DVI no HDMI). My sound is 5.1 only so I can’t decode the HD audio from HDMI.
My questions are, Is the CPU enough for BR playback or do I need more horse power?
Is the video card enough or should I upgrade? if so what would you recommend?
MCE7 is working pretty well and videos are playing fine in SD from my WHS and from DVDs.
If the video card or play back software can scale up the 480 SD to 720 HD that would be great.
Any thoughts?? Thanks in advance.
