I took a quick look over at cyberstore.com today after seeing Alan’s plug in the daily button. I’m curious about amplifiers for HDTV OTA reception. I’ve got an outdoor antenna that I’m able to pull in almost every channel that I wish(of the locals) on days with nearly zero wind using the amp that I’m linking here from RatShack(http://www.radioshack.com/product/index.jsp?productId=2103913&cp=2032057.2032187.2032189.2032207&fbn=Type%2FAmplifiers&f=PAD%2FProduct+Type%2FAmplifiers&fbc=1&parentPage=family).

I don’t know a whole lot about these things, but I know this amps does make a big difference in  my total signal. Still I’m not 100% happy with my signal strength and am curious if the amp I have from radioshack is of poor quality; do better ones exist? Would it be worth the investment in my situation to upgrade?. Total cable length is about 50 feet, and I’ve got the antenna feed split once(which didn’t reduce signal strength noticeably).

I’ve been on the edge of dumping comcast for a while, and though I doubt I’ll ever do it, certainly having a steadier antenna solution is one large reason holding me back right now.
