Baby sudoku with pictures and numbers
We often come across a Sudoku puzzle in newspapers and magazines in the "Leisure" section. This is a game with numbers that must be placed in a square with cells in a certain order. Sudoku is not only a logic-developing activity, but also a relaxing activity - it's not for nothing that game fans advise “to solve without haste and enjoy the process”.
Many consider Japan to be the birthplace of free Sudoku easy, because of the name combined from two Japanese words: Su (number) and doku (singular). But this is not entirely true. The name Sudoku was given to the game only in 1985 - by that time it was already known in America, but was called "Number Place". Although in fairness it can be noted that the logic game gained popularity under the Japanese name.
There is no complete clarity with the history of its appearance. The ancient Chinese Magic Square and the Latin Square, invented by the Swiss Euler in the 18th century, can be considered the prototype of the modern game.
The essence of Sudoku
In the classic version of Sudoku, it is a square with a side of 9 cells, in each of them you need to enter the numbers from 1 to 9 so that they do not repeat either horizontally or vertically, or in small 3x3 squares that make up a large square.
Some of the numbers have already been set - these are clues (or clues) from which you need to build on when solving Sudoku.
Depending on the number and location of these keys, Sudoku can change the level of difficulty: from simple, where the place of each digit is unique, to complex, in which you have to calculate the number substitution options several moves ahead.
But Sudoku for kids can be simplified. For example, reduce the square and the number of digits that need to be placed.
It is important to remember: any Sudoku has only one correct solution.
Sudoku for kids
Do not think that small children will not be interested in solving Sudoku online. Of course, you shouldn't immediately offer the classic version with a large field and numbers. But Sudoku with a field of 3x3 or 4x4 and pictures instead of numbers - why not?
You can print a Sudoku field and a separate picture. Then the task will turn into a kind of puzzle - with the only difference that the child will need to think before putting the picture in the right place.
The game may well captivate your kid, and the benefits from it will be sure.
What is the use of Sudoku for kids?
Like any logic game, Sudoku is primarily aimed at developing logic. To put the number / picture correctly, the child must analyze the entire Sudoku field, and this is not at all easy, especially without skill.
Solving Sudoku develops attention and perseverance. One of the features of this game is the need to concentrate on the task - without this, mistakes are inevitable.
And finally, Sudoku is one of the few logic games in which the result can be assessed visually: a correctly solved puzzle brings not only moral, but also aesthetic satisfaction, a sense of "correctness" and orderliness. Such small victories are very important for little ones.
It should be noted that, despite the huge number of Sudoku (including for children), presented in online versions on various platforms and gadgets, the child must solve the first Sudoku on a piece of paper. To do this, the task must be downloaded and printed.
Example of solving children's sudoku
A simple option for a child is 4x4 Sudoku. The numbers in the cells must be arranged so that they do not repeat in lines horizontally, vertically and in small 2 by 2 squares (there are four such squares in this case).
It is better to start the solution from that small block, column or row, where there are more filled cells. For example, in the second vertical line there are already three numbers out of four - 1, 2 and 3. We will only have to add the number 4.
Now let's turn to the bottom left square. It already contains numbers 3 and 1. We just have to find a place for two and four. We cannot put the number 4 in the top cell of this square, since it is already in this line; and we cannot put 2 in the bottom cell, because the two is already present in the bottom row. Thus, you need to put 2 in the top cell, and 4 in the bottom one.
Now we can easily fill in the missing numbers - 1 and 3 - in the bottom two lines.
In the rightmost column, one cell was left unfilled - feel free to put one in it.
Let's turn to the upper left block. It lacks the numbers 1 and 3. The three can be placed in any of the cells, but the one - only in the top one, since it is already present in the second line from the top. Accordingly, we put 1 in the top cell, and 3 in the bottom one.
Now it is not difficult to guess which numbers need to be substituted in the remaining cells.
We check that there are no repetitions in any of the horizontals and verticals. Is that correct? Sudoku solved!
