Hello,
I own a 55″ Samsung Plasma TV that has only two (2) HDMI inputs.
Have my FIOS HD DVR & BLu-Ray player connected via HDMI.
I’m now out of HDMI inputs and am looking for recomendations for a HDMI switch/selector,
to connect other devices like a Logitech TV Cam HD and have other connection options.I do have some small length HDMI connectors,
but don’t want to have to recconnect devices all the time.
And the wife exceptance factor is a must…Obviously looking for the best and you gents have the experience.
Wouldn’t want to purchase somethinge that others know to stear away from.
Recomendations?Thank you in advance.

think you could pass the WAF by convincing her you need a new AVR & speaker setup? That would get you a ton of HDMI inputs, then a simple Harmony remote setup to make everything work together.
Aside from that, I don’t have any personal experience with just basic HDMI switchers, but make sure you get a POWERED one, as I’ve read lots about bad luck with non-powered and HDCP issues. Maybe with an IR-learning remote you can program a script to change inputs as needed?

Thank you for the reply.
I’ll look around for a powered HDMI switch.
WAF .. She has enough trouble figuring out how to change the input source on the TV.
An AVR receiver would be overboard for her and we really don’t need it.

I can recommend this one: http://dx.com/p/4-port-1080p-hdmi-switcher-3-in-1-out-104651
It comes with a remote, and can run both with/without external power. Only downside is that the remote needs kind of an “exact angle” to work. It has 3 input/1 output.

This 5 Port Smart HDMI Switch works great.
The only issue is the bright blue power on LED.
In a dark room it’s effective as a night light. -
